Hatchery Driver- Center

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is based in Center, Texas. The Hatchery Driver is responsible for both hauling eggs and dumping chicks. During chick delivery this individual is responsible for loading and delivering chicks from the hatchery to the local contract broiler farms (up to a 100 miles radius) . The individual selected for this position will also be responsible for driving a truck from the hatchery to and from various egg producers farms throughout the area picking up hatching eggs for the hatchery. This positions importance lies in the fact that this person must make sure both chicks and eggs are picked up/delivered in a timely matter and handled so as to insure the best animal husbandry standards are achieved.
Expectations of the Hatchery Driver position include, but are not limited to the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Conducts pre-trip/post-trip inspection in accordance with division guidelines and D. O. T. requirements.
Chick Delivery:
Loads and unloads chicks in a safe and economical manner assuring that the chicks are handled in accordance with all animal welfare guidelines as well as assist in the placing of chicks in barn.
Tolerate chicken house conditions (smell, heat, walking in chicken litter, dumping chick boxes, presence of rodents)
Operate a moffett/forklift
Follow company biosecurity practices.
Maintain accurate chick delivery records to ensure quality standards are met.
Egg Pick Up
Will load trucks at hatchery, deliver empty racks to producers and pick up full racks of eggs. The nature of the position is very physical at times and requires lots of pulling and pushing.
Must be able to drive large trucks in all types of weather, as well as back up to chicken house doors at every pick up (16-20 pick up per day)
Must be able to lift/push 100+ lbs.
Also must keep interior of truck clean at all times for good bio-security.
Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 60 pounds
Operate a lift gate
Complete other related Hatchery Work as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Working knowledge of driving and traffic rules.
Working skill to drive a truck safely and with a conscious effort to transport fragile loads.
Good driving record

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
